Auc­tion house has lots to cel­e­brate

AUC­TION house Man­ning Stain­ton is cel­e­brat­ing the suc­cess of its lat­est sale, where 80 per cent of lots were sold.

Buy­ers from Lon­don and Birm­ing­ham jet­ted into Leed­sBrad­ford Air­port from Gatwick to se­cure properties and the sale­room was packed with 400 peo­ple.

A two-bed­room ter­race at Dal­ton Grove in Bee­ston, Leeds, achieved over £60,000 from a guide of £25,000 to £30,000 while a house in Idle, Brad­ford, sold for £81,000 from a guide of £40,000 to £50,000.

A fire-dam­aged house in Harehills, Leeds, soared from a first bid of £22,000 to £58,400.

Bid­ders on the day in­cluded many in­vestors and a sig­nif­i­cant num­ber of home buy­ers.
