THE development of the former Shipton Street School in York into 38 homes has created such a high level of interest that the developers have bought forward the release date, with the first phase of properties now going on sale this weekend.

Hundreds of potential buyers have registered their interest in Bootham Green, which is the first new development within walking distance of York city centre to be built for more than four years.

The Grade II listed buildings are being transformed into 24 townhouses and 14 new homes. Rushbond Group and Advent Developments started work on the scheme in January and work is due to complete towards the end of the year. www.boothamgreen.
