YORKSHIRE’S property market has experienced a distinct increase in activity over the last month, according to figures from Dacre, Son & Hartley.

The agent has more homes sold subject to contract than at any time since Spring 2010 and also has over 5,500 active buyers held on its mailing list, the highest number for more than four years. A significant proportion of these potential purchasers are currently living chain-free in rented accommodation, while around 29 per cent are considering relocating to Yorkshire from other parts of the UK. Patrick McCutcheon FNAEA, Head of Dacres Residential, says the sub-£500,000 sector has seen the greatest increase in activity.
