Mortgage deals attract buyers
YORKSHIRE house sales have risen over the past year as buyers take advantage of attractive mortgage deals, say estate agency William H Brown.
The firm says Harrogate is booming with the average property price soaring 6 per cent over the past month alone to £150,769. Sales are up 13 per cent over the past year.
York prices are up 1.5 per cent on last year, as sales transactions increase 7 per cent annually.
Huddersfield prices rose 4 per cent in a month and sales were up 7 per cent in the same period
Area director Jo Whincup says: “The pace of sales transactions across Yorkshire is hotting up. It’s encouraging to see applications for mortgages from first-time buyers increasing by over a third.”
