THE average asking price in Yorkshire and Humber has increased by 1.8 per cent since the start of the year, according to estate agency Dacre, Son and Hartley.

Patrick McCutcheon, head of residential at the firm, said: “We’ve seen a noticeable improvement in the property market since the start of the year and currently have more homes under offer than at any other time since spring 2010.

“We have also launched over 30 per cent more homes to the market between January and June, compared with the previous six months.”

The Move With Us Rental Index also shows that Yorkshire remains the cheapest region in the UK to rent property.
