Builders at their busiest since 2007
BUILDERS’ workloads across the UK have begun to increase for the first time since the recession began, according to the Federation of Master Builders (FMB).
The FMB says the net balance for workloads, expected workloads and enquiries in the second quarter of 2013 was positive across most of the UK for the first time since 2007.
However, Federation registered concern about prospects in Scotland – as the workload north of the border decreased by 26 per cent.
An FMB spokesman said: “After one of the toughest economic downturns since the Second World War, it is encouraging to see conditions may be easing for Britain’s beleaguered builders.”
