Loan ad­vi­sors re­port best month

THE Mort­gage Ad­vice Bureau has re­ported its most suc­cess­ful month.

It says its 500 ad­vis­ers, who work in es­tate agency of­fices, saw an eight per cent rise in busi­ness in July com­pared to the same month last year.

MAB says growth in­crease since the Govern­ment’s help to buy scheme was launched.

Since Jan­uary, the to­tal value of mort­gage ap­pli­ca­tions has rock­eted by 51 per cent, com­pared to the same pe­riod last year. Ap­pli­ca­tions to­talling £3.32bn were sub­mit­ted in the first seven months of 2013. The fig­ure was £2.21bn in 2012.

Chief ex­ec­u­tive of MAB, Peter Brod­nicki, says: “This looks set to be a land­mark year both for the MAB and the wider mar­ket.”
