Prices forecast to rise ‘by 3pc by 2016’
JONES Lang LaSalle has revised its house prices forecasts up for this year.
According to its latest research, prices in Yorkshire will rise by one per cent this year and are set to peak with a three per cent increase by 2016. It predicts that prices will rise by three per cent nationally. Guy Ackernley, Head of Residential in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Leeds office, says the Government’s Help to Buy and Funding for Lending schemes have strengthened the market, but adds that the growth rate may slow when they run out and interest rates rise.
Meanwhile, mothballed schemes in Leeds city centre could be revived. Taylor Wimpey has submitted a revised planning application for Green Bank.
