Fierce bidding for farmhouse
THE Feather Smailes and Scales was a big success, with the Grantley Thwaites farmhouse at Grantley attracting fierce competition.
The farmhouse finally sold for £535,000 off a guide price of £400,000, while the parcel of an additional six acres of land fetched £92,000 off a guide price of £50,000.
Other properties that also attracted brisk bidding were 13 East Parade, Harrogate, a substantial stone-built Victorian house, arranged as offices but with the potential to convert to residential.
From a guide price of £190,000 it was finally knocked down at £260,000. A development site in Killinghall, which made £306,000 against a guide price of £250,000.
