Fierce bid­ding for farm­house

THE Feather Smailes and Scales was a big suc­cess, with the Grant­ley Th­waites farm­house at Grant­ley at­tract­ing fierce com­pe­ti­tion.

The farm­house fi­nally sold for £535,000 off a guide price of £400,000, while the par­cel of an ad­di­tional six acres of land fetched £92,000 off a guide price of £50,000.

Other prop­er­ties that also at­tracted brisk bid­ding were 13 East Pa­rade, Har­ro­gate, a sub­stan­tial stone-built Vic­to­rian house, ar­ranged as of­fices but with the po­ten­tial to con­vert to res­i­den­tial.

From a guide price of £190,000 it was fi­nally knocked down at £260,000. A de­vel­op­ment site in Killing­hall, which made £306,000 against a guide price of £250,000.
