Over-55s are the big spenders
HOMEOWNERS in Yorkshire are spending an average of £11,000 on any one project, according to new research by Ben Bailey Homes. The YouGov survey also revealed that more than threequarters (76 per cent) of Yorkshire homeowners have made improvements to their current property.
The reasons vary with over half of those surveyed saying they were necessary to create the home they want, while 20 per cent wanted to add more living space to their house and 19 per cent wanted a bigger kitchen.
UK homeowners aged 55 and above spend more than any other age group, investing an average of almost £15,000 on one project.
