Ilk­ley prices pass their 2007 peak

PROP­ERTY in most spa towns con­tin­ues to out­per­form other ar­eas, ac­cord­ing to a new study by Sav­ills.

A num­ber of the sought-af­ter towns have now sur­passed their val­ues in 2007, when the mar­ket peaked be­fore fall­ing in the re­ces­sion.

Tun­bridge Wells is the top per­former with val­ues at 12.8 per cent above those in 2007. In York­shire, Ilk­ley is the ma­jor suc­cess story with house prices now 7.2 per cent higher than their pre­vi­ous peak.

Har­ro­gate’s are 1.1 per cent be­low, while Knares­bor­ough’s are 6.1 per cent down and Scar­bor­ough’s 11.1 per cent lower.
