Price rises forecast for next five years
SAVILLS forecast a 20.5 per cent rise in house prices in Yorkshire over the next five years.
The agency say there will be a 5% increase next year, followed by 4.5% in 2015, 3.5% in 2106, 3.5% in 2017 and 2.5 in 2018.
Researchers say York will be the top performer and the city also features in Savills top 20 nationally. Barnsley, Bradford and Hull will be among the worst performers.
A spokesman says: “As things currently stand, there is little doubt that the ripple effect from London is overdue, having taken longer than usual to breach the boundaries of the M25. Prices in other parts of the UK will start to out-perform London at some point over the next five years, though not uniformly.”
