Planners permit more building
THE Home Builders Federation’s latest Housing Pipeline report show a big increase in the number of planning permissions being granted for new homes.
It shows that 44,251 permissions were granted in the third quarter of the year in England on 826 sites – up 31 per cent year-onyear and 19 per cent on the previous quarter and is the most permissions granted in quarter three since 2007.
HBF executive chairman Stewart Baseley said: “This is the latest indicator to show how the industry is looking to quickly increase output.
“We have already seen evidence of a rise in new homes starts and these figures show the industry’s intent to increase and sustain that over the next few years.”
