First time buyers are back in town

Yorkshire Post - Property - - PROPERTY -

LAST year saw first time buyers “marching back into town with a vengeance,” according to Manning Stainton, who say that October saw the biggest surge since the height of the boom in 2007.

The agents adds that the average sale price across the region in 2013 was £158,481.

“This represents a 3% increase on sale prices in 2012,” says Mark Manning. “We may have expected these numbers to be higher, but up until now lending has remained fairly restricted for those without good deposits and buyers have still had plenty of choice.

“What happens this year will very much depend on whether more properties become available in 2014.”
