AUCTION House was the only UK property auctioneer to sell more than the milestone figure of 2,500 lots in 2013.

This confirms that the company now accounts for 10 per cent of all property auction sales in the country.

Independent figures from the Essential Information Group show that the brand successfully sold 2,575 lots in 165 auctions during the year, with an average success rate of 80 per cent.

Auction House West Yorkshire director David Pank said: “We’re seeing a noticeable increase in the number of family homes being sold at auction to private buyers. In other words, people who are buying them to live in, instead of selling them on.”
