School conversion into mini village
LEEDS-BASED developers Rushbond Group and Advent Developments have submitted a planning application to transform a former school in Upper Wortley into a new village development consisting of 49 houses.
The plans will see the existing grade II listed Upper Wortley School building converted into 13, two and three bedroom houses together with 36 new family homes built in the grounds. Planning consent had previously been granted for an apartment based scheme and subject to the revised scheme being approved construction could start later this year.
Jonathan Maud, of Rushbond, said: “We have taken the opportunity to improve upon the original scheme.”
