YORKSHIRE is one of the best places in the country to buy-to-let, according to BM Solutions.

The average rental yield is 6.6 per cent. Meanwhile, although tenants have seen a seven per cent rise in rents in the past year, the cost of renting in Yorkshire is still among the lowest in the country at £527/ calendar month.

The average rent in London now stands at £1,417 and is 102 per cent higher than the national average of £701; according to the latest analysis by BM Solutions. Phil Rickards, head of BM Solutions, says: “Demand for rental accommodation remains strong, and in many regions this is outstripping supply, which can lead to an upward pressure on rent prices.”
