Plans for eco home in York city centre
PLANS to build townhouses on a brownfield site in York city centre are set to go before local planners this spring.
A £4m scheme to develop eight homes on a disused yard behind the former Lord Nelson Inn at 31 Walmgate, York, will be submitted in the next few weeks.
The plan, drawn up Northminster Ltd, also includes redeveloping the former pub, which lies empty, into two adjoining homes, one with threebedrooms and the other with four, with a private courtyard.
Northminster Ltd acquitred the site from Matbo Ltd, Escrick, York, last autumn. It has a £1m asking price. COG Architecture, Leeds, has designed the homes, which will have solar-thermal heating and roof terraces.
