MARK Hayward, managing director of the National Association of Estate Agents and Ian Potter, managing director of the Association of Letting Agents have issued a joint statement ahead of the 2014 Budget announcement. In it they say: “A major theme for this year’s Budget needs to be the supply of homes and more specifically, mobility in the property market. The Government needs to address the restrictions people face when finding a place to live.”

They also call on the Chancellor to “address the unfair and hugely expensive Stamp Duty slab structure and to support institutional investment in the private rented sector by fully regulating the industry.”
