Optimism in North Yorkshire market

Yorkshire Post - Property - - PROPERTY NEWS -

PREDICT: The remaining thorn in the side of the housing market is stamp duty, according to Harrogate-based Search Partnership headed by Toby Milward and Tom Robinson. It now costs £93,750 in stamp duty to buy a £1.5m house. This increases to £138,750 if you buy a second home. “A stamp duty reduction would lead us to a more optimistic forecast for this year but money is cheap to borrow so we still predict house price growth of three per cent in North Yorkshire over the next 12 months.” The Search Partnership is a property finding and advice service, www. thesearchpartnership.co.uk, tel: 01423 324716
