North-south divide is now over £16m
HIGHEST PRICE: The latest Price Paid Data from the Land Registry includes details of over 87,600 residential and commercial land and property sales in England and Wales lodged for registration in December 2016. Of the 87,678 sales, 64,924 were freehold and 8,051 were newly-built. A total of 610 homes were sold for £1 million and over and 365 of them were in London. The most expensive residential sale was a terraced property in the London Borough of Kensington and Chelsea for £16,2m. In a stark example of the northsouth divide, the cheapest was a terraced property in Peterlee, County Durham for £14,000.
