Rental yields are best in the North

BUY-TO-LET: Lat­est fig­ures from peer-to-peer prop­erty lend­ing plat­form, Ku­flink’s Buyto-Let In­dex show that the cities in North of Eng­land pro­vide the best rental re­turns, sig­nif­i­cantly out­per­form­ing Lon­don. Manch­ester came out on top, pro­vid­ing an av­er­age rental yield of 6.73 per cent, closely fol­lowed by neigh­bour­ing Sal­ford, which pro­vides re­turns of 6.68. Leeds was fourth with 5.67 per cent. The north of the UK fur­ther im­pressed with its rental yield growth. Hull, Rother­ham and Don­caster and Aberdeen­shire and Ed­in­burgh achieved the largest rises be­tween Oc­to­ber and De­cem­ber 2016, with in­creases of up to 0.31 per cent.
