Developer levy review welcomed

Yorkshire Post - Property - - PROPERTY NEWS -

LEVY: A review of section 106 agreements and community infrastructure levies aimed at forcing developers to pay for community benefit schemes or include affordable housing in their plans has been welcomed by Knight Frank.

The review is expected to take place next year. Justin Gaze, Knight Frank’s joint head of residential development, says: “A review of the Community Infrastructure Levy is welcome, as this system has become a burden on development, instead of streamlining payment for infrastructure as it was intended.”

He added that the cost of planning was also an issue.
