Supermarkets win buyers’ hearts

Yorkshire Post - Property - - PROPERTY NEWS -

SHOPS: If you’re selling your home and you don’t have a supermarket within 15 minutes’ walk, your potential pool of buyers could be halved.

New YouGov survey results, published by property marketplace TheHouseShop. com, show that 49 per cent of Brits say that they would need a supermarket located within walking distance of their new home to consider moving there.

Supermarkets were not the only local essentials demanded by potential home-hunters, with Post Offices, train/underground stations, and pubs all proving to be popular, along with transport links. Men were more likely to value a pub.
