New plans for Nestlé factory
LANDMARK: Property development company Newby has submitted a full planning application to redevelop the historic former Nestlé factory and surrounding land on Haxby Road in York. It aims to create 263 apartments, a convenience store, bike stores and 173 parking spaces. The landmark building has been empty since 2008 when Nestle moved to a more modern factory nearby. The Cocoa Works scheme includes a roof extension and is a mix of one, two and three bedroom apartments A dedicated concierge facility will be located in the former Grade II listed Joseph Rowntree Memorial Library.
