Flats planned for of­fice build­ing

HARROGATE: Prop­erty De­vel­oper Newby has bought the for­mer head­quar­ters of ed­u­ca­tion char­ity AQA in the town with plans to re­de­velop the site into 35 lux­ury apart­ments.

The site, at the junc­tion of Kings Road and ad­ja­cent to the Harrogate In­ter­na­tional Con­fer­ence Cen­tre, be­came va­cant when AQA re­lo­cated to new of­fices. An ap­pli­ca­tion for an of­fice to res­i­den­tial con­ver­sion un­der per­mit­ted de­vel­op­ment rights has been ap­proved. Work is due to start and the scheme should be complete by au­tumn 2018 with a sales launch later this year.
