Harrogate among best places to live
BEST OF BRITISH: The spa town at the top of the region’s property shopping list has been named the 12th best place to live in Britain by the Sunday Times. It says: “Harrogate’s journey is complete. One of the corners of Yorkshire’s golden triangle, it was once a byword for respectability, a place where smartly-dressed ladies of a certain age would tuck into a ‘fat rascal’, the enormous scone that is a trademark of Betty’s tearoom. Yet Harrogate is now almost modish. Amid the manicured gardens and boutiques, cool cafes and restaurants are springing up.” Harrogate, it adds, has “a touch of Yorkshire class”.
