Sheffield growth set to beat Leeds
CITY INDEX: The latest Hometrack UK Cities House Price Index reveals that city house price inflation is running at 6.4 per cent across the country compared with 7.8 per cent in 2016. Affordability pressures continue to bite in southern England. A continued slowdown in London house price growth, where the rate of annual increase of 5.6 per cent is at its lowest level since 2013, has seen the capital fall to tenth fastest-growing city. By contrast, Manchester is registering the highest rate of growth at 8.8 per cent. Leeds’s annual figure is five per cent, while Sheffield’s is 5.6 per cent.
