Sh­effield growth set to beat Leeds

CITY IN­DEX: The lat­est Home­track UK Cities House Price In­dex re­veals that city house price in­fla­tion is run­ning at 6.4 per cent across the coun­try com­pared with 7.8 per cent in 2016. Af­ford­abil­ity pres­sures con­tinue to bite in south­ern Eng­land. A con­tin­ued slow­down in Lon­don house price growth, where the rate of an­nual in­crease of 5.6 per cent is at its low­est level since 2013, has seen the cap­i­tal fall to tenth fastest-grow­ing city. By con­trast, Manch­ester is reg­is­ter­ing the high­est rate of growth at 8.8 per cent. Leeds’s an­nual fig­ure is five per cent, while Sh­effield’s is 5.6 per cent.
