It all goes on last games for Driffield

Yorkshire Post - Sports Monday - - RUGBY LEAGUE -

RUGBY UNION: Second-placed Driffield secured a vital bonus point win against Penrith in third in North One East as their title hopes kept burning.

Guy Brumfield, Joe Robinson, William Burns and James Dinsdale led the way for the East Yorkshire side. They must now secure a bonus point win in their last game and hope current leaders Alnwick don’t take any points from their final match next Saturday. But if Driffield lose and third-placed Penrith win, the Yorkshire side will drop out of the play-off spots.

West Leeds ran in six tries on their way to a 38-13 victory over West Hartlepool, with Winger Danny Booth and centre Tom Jackson both scoring two tries.

Elsewhere, Huddersfield YMCA boosted their hopes of avoiding the drop with a 42-26 win at Northern.

York secured the Yorkshire One title after scoring four tries in a 25-25 draw with rivals Heath.

The battle for the play-off spot continues though, with Scarborough, Middlesbrough, Heath and Beverley all in with a chance.
