Plant of the week
Tagetes: Normally grown as half-hardy bedding plants, tagetes are a popular choice with gardeners for containers or the front of a bed or border. They are great as gap-fillers and can flower for lengthy periods. Tagetes love a sunny site and well-drained soil. They are among the easiest of flowers to grow – sow the big seeds under glass in early spring or wait a while and then sow them into the spot where you want them to grow. Tagetes are a relative of sunflowers.
