Extra days to quiz terrorism suspect

Police have three extra days to question a man arrested at Heathrow Airport on suspicion of Syria-related terrorism offences.

The 26-year-old, who was detained after arriving on a flight from Turkey, can be held in custody until Tuesday night.

West Midlands Police said there was no threat to flight or airport safety.

The arrest by the West Midlands counter-terrorism unit was pre-planned and intelligence-led, the force said.
