Migrant boat sinks, killing 16 people

Sixteen people have died after a migrant boat sank while attempting to reach a Greek island from Turkey, authorities have said.

Nine bodies were recovered from Greek waters off the Aegean island of Lesbos, with another seven bodies found in Turkish waters.

Greece’s coastguard said authorities had recovered the bodies of six women, two men and a child in Greece, while Turkish authorities picked up the bodies of six men and a child.
