Rugby champions link with university
The reigning rugby champions of England have teamed up with a university to offer a PhD in the sport.
Premiership winners Exeter Chiefs are working with the University of Exeter to fund a doctorate into the injury risks facing young rugby players.
The PhD student will investigate risk factors for injuries in the Chiefs’ academy players.
The results will be used to shape the training for rugby stars and will build upon work by the university and the club.
