Thigh was im­paled on metal rail­ing

A man was res­cued af­ter im­pal­ing him­self on a metal fence.

Fire crews from York, Acomb and an in­ci­dent sup­port unit from Tad­caster helped the po­lice and am­bu­lance ser­vice free the man, who fell while climb­ing a fence at around 4.20am, end­ing up with his thigh im­paled on the rail­ing at Moore Av­enue. Crews used cut­ting gear to free him be­fore he was handed to the care of the am­bu­lance ser­vice.
