New home plan for unused NHS sites
HEALTH: Thousands of affordable homes will be built on unused or surplus NHS land across England.
The policy is expected to create about 3,000 homes with the money generated set to be pumped back into NHS services. Under the plans, NHS staff will be given first refusal to buy the homes.
The announcement follows 17 recommendations made in March last year by a review, of which 15 have now been accepted.
