Senior councillors appointed in city

YORK:

Four new portfolio holders have been appointed to the city council after being named by its new leader.

Ian Gillies, who replaced David Carr as leader of City of York Council on March 8, appointed Peter Dew, Keith Myers and Helen Douglas to transport, education and housing respectively. Coun Gillies, who will be portfolio holder for finance, said the team was “eager to move forward”.
