Plan to cre­ate jobs for slav­ery vic­tims

Lead­ing busi­nesses, led by the Co-op, plan to cre­ate up to 300 jobs for vic­tims of mod­ern slav­ery by 2020.

Up to 20 large firms are set to sign up to an em­ploy­ment pro­gramme de­vised by the Co-op, in con­junc­tion with Liver­pool-based City Hearts, to pro­vide work for peo­ple res­cued from en­slave­ment.

Said du­alling A64 would bring a ‘mul­ti­tude of ad­van­tages’.
