Fall in applications to nursing courses
UNIVERSITY: A record number of international students have applied for a place at a UK university this year, UCAS has revealed, though there has been a steep fall in interest in nursing courses.
The official figures, released today, show one in three English 18-year-olds have applied for a place, with the number of international applications rising six per cent. But, the figures show, there are nine per cent fewer applications to nursing courses than this time last year, including a 12 per cent fall in the number of English applicants.
