Chance to be part of historical dig

EPWORTH: People are getting a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get involved in an archaeological dig in the town.

The site is thought to be a medieval manor house linked to one of the greatest families of the Middle Ages, the Mowbrays.

It follows a geophysical survey last year that identified anomalies which could be walls. The two-week dig at Vinegarth starts on Tuesday, July 17.

Volunteers of all ages are needed and training will be given. Book via Eventbrite or visit ioahc.net.
