2010: Princess Eu­ge­nie and Jack Brooks­bank, a brand am­bas­sador for a make of tequila, are in­tro­duced by mu­tual friends dur­ing a ski­ing trip in Switzer­land. She was study­ing in New­cas­tle at the time and he was work­ing in Lon­don.

2011: The cou­ple make a first pub­lic ap­pear­ance to­gether, dressed in match­ing hats, at Royal As­cot.

2013: Eu­ge­nie moves to New York to work for an on­line auc­tion house, while Jack re­mains in Lon­don. He tells an in­ter­viewer that the two of them spend “a lot of time to­gether” on the in­ter­net chat ser­vice, Skype.

2015: Eu­ge­nie moves back to Lon­don, open­ing up to Harper’s Bazaar magazine about home life with Jack. “We watch The Walk­ing Dead, which we’re ob­sessed with. Maybe Game of Thrones is our next thing. I don’t watch re­al­ity shows, but I love cook­ing pro­grammes,” she re­veals. 2017: Eu­ge­nie and Jack at­tend the wed­ding of Pippa Mid­dle­ton, sis­ter of the Duchess of Cam­bridge. They are pho­tographed hold­ing hands as they en­ter the pri­vate cer­e­mony. Jan­uary 2018: Buck­ing­ham Palace con­firms that the cou­ple are en­gaged, in a state­ment from Eu­ge­nie’s par­ents, Prince An­drew and Sarah, Duchess of York. May 2018: The cou­ple at­tend the wed­ding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle at St Ge­orge’s Chapel in Wind­sor Cas­tle, and are re­ported to have moved into a three-bed­room cot­tage at Kens­ing­ton Palace, close to the new­ly­weds. Their near neigh­bours also in­clude the Duke and Duchess of Cam­bridge.
