Mothers service safeguarded
HULL: Some of the city’s most vulnerable women will continue to be supported by the Doula breastfeeding support service after the city council committed to a new three-year contract.
Many of the new mothers referred to the service have issues including domestic abuse, drug abuse and mental health.
The city is still well below national average for breastfeeding, with latest data showing only 28 per cent continuing for between six to eight weeks.
