Retailers given January bonus

HIGH STREET: Retail footfall in January fell by 0.7 per cent, a smaller decline compared with the previous year where it fell by 1.6 per cent.

The British Retail Consortium (BRC) said that this was the 14th month of consecutive decline.

With school holidays extending further into January this year compared with last year, January retail footfall received a boost.
