A DIFFERENT KIND OF FIRST NIGHT

You and Your Wedding - - Lingerie -

“Simon and I were due to get married the same day as Kate and Wills, but my Mum was very unwell with ovarian cancer. She was admitted to Willen Hospice and it was clear she wasn’t going to make it to the wedding. We cancelled our plans and had a family-only ceremony at the church next to the hospice, with a quick meal at the private rooms in The Swan at Salford. I went back to see my mum as soon as it was finished. The sta probably had never seen a bride running down the corridors before! I had a headache due to stress at the end of the day, and I think we were in bed by 8pm. My mum passed away three days later. It’s not the day I would have chosen, but Mum was there and that was all that mattered.” Abby, Northamptonshire
