When it comes to fabric, the key trends we spotted were the company’s signature lace, silk mikado, soft tulle and silk gauze, plus a wonderful crepe, which gives a crisp and modern red-carpet feel. Plus, there’s some great news for dancing queens – a fishtail dress made of stretch brocade is now cut higher at the back for ease of movement. The star of the show has to be the stunning embroidery, made in Pronovias’ workshops in Barcelona (the company has embroiderers that take over 300 hours to produce one statement dress), plus the detailing on the tulle illusion necklines and sleeves is amazing – some are embroidered and others have gemstones that appear to float delicately over the skin. Interior corsets are also a feature of the collection, and customisation is key – you can go for plunge necklines, skirt slits, straps, sleeves or higher or lower necklines – the world’s your oyster! Take it one step further with a cape or overskirt for a completely unique dress.
