Oxford Old English Game birds

Your Chickens - - Feature | Your Breeds -

The origin of the breed goes back to Roman times. The Romans kept them for pleasure and diversion but not as a food source. They were used for cock fighting for many years. This was made illegal in the UK around 1849. The birds are now very popular for exhibition and look amazing in the show pen. There are more than 30 colour varieties for this breed but the main concern must be the breed’s standard and appearance.
