The Practical Guide to Keeping Chickens, Ducks, Geese & Turkeys

Your Chickens - - Feature | Books - by Fred Hams is my most recommended and read book.

Practical and no nonsense, just like Fred, and a great read for beginners and more experienced hen keepers. The book covers everything from anatomy and breeds, to health, hatching, housing and showing. Fred’s expansive knowledge is encapsulated in an easy to read format, with lots of hints and tips that have been gained over his many years as a poultryman. My poultry bookshelf also contains Diseases of Free-Range Poultry by Victoria Roberts, which is my ‘go-to’ book when I am dealing with a sick hen – a must-have for every poultry keeper.
