Will bird flu restrictions be imposed on chicken keepers again this winter? No-one knows yet, and even the Government’s Chief Vet is hedging his bets.
In an article for Your Chickens, Professor Nigel Gibbens said we can’t say how likely the disease is to return this winter, but we have to be prepared for the possibility.
Professor Gibbens says he realises the measures imposed last winter posed a challenge to those who keep chickens, but he said their cooperation was a crucial part of the efforts to control the disease.
