Hi Kids!

Your Chickens - - Feature | Health - Hattie

Poppy and George find an unusual egg in the nest-box this month. Have your chickens laid any strange eggs lately? Send us a photo if they have! It takes about 25 hours for an egg to be made, and sometimes things go wrong along the way. Hens are more likely to lay odd eggs when they are getting ready for their yearly change of feathers. Then they stop laying altogether to focus on their winter wardrobe. This is a stressful time for them, so they need to take it easy for a while. Some hens will start laying again as soon as their feathers have grown back, but others will wait until the spring.
