Ahost of special features are being lined up to celebrate this year’s 60th anniversary of The Game Fair - and you can win tickets to this fabulous event (enter below). First held in 1958, the three-day annual festival of the great British countryside is at Ragley Hall in Warwickshire from Friday 27 to Sunday 29 July.
Ragley Hall itself will be marking 60 years since it first opened its doors to the public.
With more than 20 gundog breeds, from German shorthaired pointers to Nova Scotia duck tolling retrievers, under one roof at the popular sporting dog pavilion, a Falconry Village which has tripled in size and two evenings of live jazz music presented by the internationally renowned Ronnie Scott’s, there is something for everyone is this year’s bumper programme.
Elsewhere, world champion fly caster Hywel Morgan will be showing off his skills and offering visitors the chance to learn from him at one of two dedicated casting pools at the fishing village. Award-winning chef, author and television presenter James Martin is another star attraction, mingling with diners and sharing his passion for the countryside as the face of The James Martin Game Fayre Restaurant.
Firm favourites including Gunmakers’ Row, the Subaru Shooting Line, have-a-go archery and airguns, the Carter Jonas Game Fair Theatre and the 4x4 course, once again, feature in the lineup for 2018.
James Gower, The Game Fair’s managing director, said: “I’m excited about the 60th anniversary,” said. “I hope visitors will immerse themselves in the spirit of camaraderie and community we create for those passionate about the countryside.” For more information and to book tickets in advance visit www.thegamefair.org
