Using mindfulnes­s every time you ride can be split into three stages. Lisa explains how:

1 On your way to the yard “As you drive to the yard from work or home, slowly breathe in and out for one minute in order to slow your thoughts and to let go of all the clutter in your head.” 2 As you groom “Let grooming become a ritual and a process you enjoy before every ride. Don’t rush it.” 3 In the saddle “Mount up then take a moment to pause, be with your breath, feel what’s happening with your horse and in your body, relax and then ride.”
